Darling is CEO and cofounder of The Architect’s Newspaper, celebrating its 12th year. The A|N media company consists of print and digital publications covering architecture and design news, as well as the Facades+ conferences. As A|N’s publisher, Darling won the AIA National Collaboration Award, Grassroots Preservation Award, and ASLA NY’s President’s Award. She began her publishing career as director of print production for The Gap’s European markets. She holds a BS from The University of Texas at Austin.
Yugene’s strong design sensibilities and keen understanding of complex geometries has expanded the firm’s already rich architectural vocabulary. His knowledge of advanced materials and curtain wall systems enables new design opportunities and optimizes resources and ensures that your building will endure. Yugene’s fluency in modeling allows expressive designs and integrates budget and schedule seamlessly into the design process for a highly intelligent workflow.
Don’s background in construction, woodworking and sculpture are the foundation for how he visualizes and details his designs. As a design leader in the office, Don carefully melds his design values and the opportunities presented by the site, with the environmental goals and desires of the client. He constantly investigates new ways to use technology to push the limits of our designs.
Don teaches online classes for blackspectacles.com and is co-instructor with Mark Sexton at Northwestern University. He is active in his community, part of a team of citizens spearheading a project to improve safety for visitors and commuters of Logan Square, creating a multi-modal and pedestrian-friendly urban experience.
