The Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority created the $32 million Birmingham Bus Station and Intermodal bringing Amtrak, Greyhound, the BJCTA and automotive transportation together in one central location for its citizens. MillerClapperton fabricated over 50,000 square-feet of Metal Composite Material (MCM) by larson to complete this huge project for the city of Birmingham. In addition to a revitalized regional public transit system, the Birmingham Bus Station also includes a retail space and a new parking lot with nearly 300 spaces.
Nestled in the heart of downtown Atlanta, this project has won the ABC Excellence in Construction Award, AGC Build Georgia Award, the Phoenix Award, and the Pinnacle Award. We’ve worked on several expansions for this facility, including a $110M dolphin exhibit that required 12,000 square feet of Metal Composite Material (MCM) panels in 2 colors. Additionally, MillerClapperton provided ribbed metal panels on the north side of this expansion.
Located in downtown Atlanta, The National Center for Civil and Human Rights is one of the most uniquely complex and delightfully intricate designs we’ve ever had the pleasure to engineer. The façade features over 2,200 High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) panels in two metallic colors – rotated to create the look of four unique colors. Every single panel on this project is unique – not one was a duplicate. It is the largest application of HPL in the southeast.
