Samuel Medina is the executive editor of The Architect’s Newspaper. He was previously the editorial director of Metropolis magazine. As a writer, his work has been published in art and architecture magazines such as Artforum, the Art Newspaper, and Domus, among others. He recently edited a monograph on the architect Eric Owen Moss, due out this year.

Andrea Love, AIA, LEED Fellow, as Director of Building Science at Payette, Love works across all projects to improve building performance. She was the Principal Investigator for the AIA Upjohn Grant on thermal bridging, and is a Lecturer at MIT Architecture. Love is a licensed architect with a BArch from Carnegie Mellon, and Masters in Building Technology from MIT and received the Tucker-Voss Award. She is a member of the COTE Advisory Group, and chairs the 2030 Working Group.

Jim has worked within the Building Products Industry his entire career since graduating from Merrimack College in 1985. He has been with YKK AP since 2019 working as the New England Architectural Sales Representative. He finds this part of his career to be the most challenging and interesting. Helping today’s Architectural Professionals to solve complex Façade problems and design issues to be very satisfying work.

Eric Höweler is Co-founding Principal of Höweler + Yoon Architecture LLP, a research-driven, multidisciplinary design studio working between architecture, art and media. HYA has a reputation for work that is technologically and formally innovative, and deeply informed by human experience and a sensitivity to tectonics. HYA’s ongoing work includes the UVA Memorial, a landscape installation dedicated to enslaved laborers at the University of Virginia, the Stuart St multi-family residential tower in Boston, MA, the new MIT Museum in Cambridge, MA, and Float Lab, a public art installation and floating laboratory on the Schuykill River in Philadelphia, PA.

Theodore Touloukian has distinguished himself as a design leader who thinks between, across and beyond multiple disciplines. By encouraging the integration of creativity and critical thinking with project collaborators, Touloukian fosters an environment that develops innovative and integrated design solutions addressing our common challenges.

Brad Mahoney is the sustainability, healthy building and technology lead for MP Boston. Leading these efforts on MP Boston’s next project at Winthrop Center, a 1.8 million square foot project that is slated to be the largest Passive House office building in the world. Winthrop Center is also slated to be WiredScore Platinum and WELL Certified Gold. Brad joined MP Boston in 2012 and oversaw the restoration of the historic Burnham Building, the former Filene’s Building, in Downtown Crossing. He was also on the development team for Millennium Tower, which is Boston’s tallest residential building.

Blake Middleton FAIA LEED AP is a Partner at Handel Architects LLP. His work includes a variety of large-scale projects that have broken new ground in approaches to sustainable design and urban living. Expanding on the firm’s experience at Cornell Tech, Blake is overseeing the design of two other precedent-setting Passive House projects: 115 Winthrop Square, a hybrid building featuring over 700,000 SF of high-performance office use in Boston’s Financial District; and in East Harlem, Sendero Verde, a 760,000 SF mixed-use complex including a high school, health center, community services partners, coupled with 650 100% affordable apartments. The diversity of Blake’s previous work includes a 2.4 million SF, four building complex that dramatically revitalized Boston’s Theater District; academic and performance buildings for The Boston Conservatory; the Flushing Meadows-Corona Park Natatorium and Ice Rink in New York; and the renovation of the historic Santa Barbara Bowl Amphitheater in Santa Barbara, California.

Jeffrey Abramson, AIA, LEED AP has vast knowledge in the design, analysis and detailing of highly complex envelope systems. His project experience includes double skin façades, unitized and stick built curtain wall, and sloped glazing systems for institutional clients such as the Harvard Art Museums, Amherst College and University of Massachusetts Medical School. Jeff is an instrumental contributor to Payette’s research work on thermal bridging and has presented the firm’s ongoing work both locally and at national conferences.

Harry Lowd, RA, has been a part of NADAAA/Office since 2006. Lowd’s work has included design and project management of award-winning institutional, commercial, and residential projects. At NADAAA, he is currently the Project Manager of Site 4, a large 28-story mixed-use development project for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology which will be completing construction this summer. He also recently was the Project Manager for Rock Creek House and Villa Varoise.

Montgomery Forman is the Director of the New England office of Island Exterior Fabricators, a custom curtainwall and megapanel fabricator. Day to day, Monty’s work straddles the intersection of architecture, construction, and bespoke product design. Monty has worked in the field of custom façade solutions for over a decade and has notably consulted on projects for with several Pritzker-winning architects both nationally and internationally. He holds a Masters in Architecture from Harvard University.

Michelle Lee works at Behnisch Architekten, where she specializes in façade design, computational techniques, digital fabrication, building model simulation, and material research. Notable projects include the Harvard Science and Engineering Complex and the Vagelos Laboratory for Energy Science and Technology at the University of Pennsylvania . Prior to joining Behnisch, Michelle worked at Morphosis Architects in Los Angeles and Gehry Technologies in Paris, France, where she worked on iconic cultural projects such as the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris, National Museum of Qatar, and the Broad Museum in Los Angeles. She received her architecture and urban planning degrees from Harvard University.

O’Hara is facade director for the Skins Group, a division of Studio NYL, established to provide full service facade design specializing in thermal modeling, moisture/condensation analysis, and in-depth detailing. Although Studio NYL is recognized for its skins work with cutting-edge glass and glazing, their team also specializes in digitally fabricated metal skins, GFRC, reinforced polymers, stone, ultra high performance concrete, terra cotta, and traditional precast. O’Hara is currently working on multiple projects in the Boston area.
