Mark Rabinowitz

Mark Rabinowitz is an accomplished conservator, author, lecturer, and sculptor with over 30 years of experience assessing and treating architectural art,monuments, and historic structures. He specializes in the conservation of a broad range of materials and objects including artifacts from the Titanic, an Egyptian Obelisk, the Celestial Sphere at the UN Headquarters in Geneva, a NASA Space Shuttle and 2 Saturn V Rockets and hundreds of public sculptures and monuments. He has worked on many significant historic monuments, structures, including the national Capitol buildings of theUS and Canada. Mark was Chief of Operations for Preservation at the Central Park Conservancy and then Chief Consulting Conservator for theNew York City Parks Department, where heinitiated programs to treat monuments and traingraduate students. Both programs are ongoing today.

Mark has presented papers, published articles, and lectured at national and international conferences, universities, and institutions including APT, AIC, ICOMOS US, SFIIC (France), Columbia University, NYU Conservation Center, Tulane University, Long Island University, and the Lacoste School ofthe Arts in France.His sculptures have been exhibited and are held inpublic and private collections intheUS and Europe
