Michael Hensley’s experience at Pickard Chilton includes leading all phases of design and construction services on numerous corporate, commercial, and residential projects for a diverse and international client base.

Mr. Hensley has been a key member of the design teams for several significant headquarters and high rise projects including: 1144 Fifteenth Street, a 1,200,000 gsf, 40-story office tower in Denver; the ExxonMobil Global Campus in Houston, Texas; The Atrium in Dubai, UAE; and the 1000+ meter Kingdom Tower in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Most recently, he led the team realizing the Field Street Tower, a 520,000 gsf, 38-story office tower in Dallas. In addition, Mr. Hensley leads the firm’s mass timber research initiative and is currently leading T3 RiNo, a mass timber project in Denver’s River North district.

As one of Pickard Chilton’s first LEED AP designers, Mr. Hensley led the Pickard Chilton LEED Initiative to educate staff on the LEED accreditation and design process and to assist all design staff to become LEED accredited professionals. Additionally, he is among Pickard Chilton’s first WELL Accredited Professionals. As a WELL-AP, Mr. Hensley continues to promote the advancement of health and well-being in buildings and communities to both clients and colleagues. Other responsibilities involve serving as Chair of the studio’s Technology Committee and being a member of the Sustainability Committee. Mr. Hensley is one of eighteen architects from across the country selected for the inaugural class of the AIA Leadership Academy, a three-year program designed to foster leadership, innovation, and mentorship for emerging leaders in the profession.

Mr. Hensley received a Bachelor of Architecture from the School of Architecture at the University of Texas at Austin where he graduated as a Collegiate Scholar with University Honors. He was a National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar and a recipient of the University of Texas Architecture Travel Scholarship.
