Jesce Walz

Perkins + Will

Jesce Walz is an Architectural Designer and Living Design Leader at Perkins&Will. She approaches emissions reduction from a systems perspective, with interest in carbon-storing, circular, and innovative materials. Jesce began training in Regenerative Design with Regenesis Group at Yestermorrow in 2012 and has volunteered with Living Futures since that time. She completed master’s degrees in both Architecture and Landscape Architecture from the University of Washington, where she began work with the Carbon Leadership Forum.

Today at Perkins&Will, Jesce practices research-informed design. She co-leads the Firm’s Embodied Carbon assessment efforts and contributes to tools and methodologies to reduce carbon, including Building Transparency’s EC3 tool, tallyCAT, and Open Carbon initiative. Jesce also publishes research, presents on carbon and Life Cycle Assessment, and participates in review committees and studies on forest carbon, benchmarking, and other topics. In her free time, Jesce is a member of the Carbon Leadership Forum Community and a sailor.
